Seven tables in the old store
High ceiling, hardwood, a lamp over every table, a house dealer twice a week and not a cent riding on any hand.
How the room is run
Five tables run first-in, first-seated. Two can be held by phone for groups of up to six.
Every table gets a fresh deck each week, a lamp of its own and a score pad. Chips stay in the room at the end of the night.
The house dealer does not referee: they explain the rules, deal if asked, and make sure nobody is left sitting on the sidelines.

- Social card games
- Five hundred, euchre, friendly poker — played for points, never for money.
- Slow tables
- Two tables kept at an easy pace on Thursday nights.
- Score pads
- The night's points, wiped clean at close.
Before you sit down
How many to a table?
Six at most, four at the learner tables.
Can I come on my own?
Often the best way — staff will seat you at an open table.
Can I bring my own cards?
We supply them; personal decks stay off the felt.
Is there a tournament?
A social one on Saturday at 8pm — no entry fee, no prize money.
